Kraft White Chocolate Recall
Our law firm is investigating claims against Kraft Foods for negligence and product liability claims concerning the presence of salmonella bacteria in its Baker’s Premium White Chocolate Baking Squares (6 oz.)
On October 3, 2007, Kraft informed the public that it was recalling all of these prooducts bearing UPC Code 0043000252200 and four best when used by dates:
31 MAR 2008 XCZ
01 APR 2008 XCZ
02 APR 2008 XCZ
03 APR 2008 XCZ
This recall is only for Baker’s Premium White Chocolate Baking Squares (6 oz.). No other varieties of Baker’s White Chocolate or any other Baker’s products sold in the United States are impacted by this recall.
This product may be contaminated with Salmonella, (a bacterium that causes foodborne illness).
Symptoms of illness caused by exposure to Salmonella include fever, diarrhea and abdominal cramps. In persons with poor underlying health or weakened immune systems, Salmonella can invade the bloodstream and cause life-threatening infections or death.
*** If you or a family member has suffered illness as a result of eating Kraft Baker’s Premium White Chocolate Baking Squares and you have medical documentation that you or your family member has suffered illness after eating the chocolate, please contact our office at (800) 443-4529 or (561) 684-6330 to discuss how we may be able to assist you. Or fill out the form on the left side of this page and your inquiry will be sent by e-mail to our office.
If you do seek medical treatment, please ask that a stool culture be done to try and confirm that you have been affected by salmonella. A stool culture is the best way to confirm the presence of Salmonella bacteria. The lack of a positive stool culture, however, will not preclude a claim.
If you have any of the chocolate, please put the jar in a plastic bag and place it in a cool spot, like your refrigerator. Do not return the product to Kraft, as we may need it to prove your claim.
