One Dead, Two Injured in Crash Involving SUV and Truck on SR 29 in Collier Co., FL

Collier County, FL (May 31, 2026) – A fatal crash involving an SUV and a commercial truck occurred Monday morning at the intersection of State Road 29 and Janes Scenic Drive. The collision happened at approximately 7:46 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Investigators said a 2018 GMC Terrain was traveling south on State Route 29 behind a 2019 truck driven by a 40-year-old Naples man. As the truck initiated a right turn, the SUV failed to slow down and struck the truck’s rear-left portion, causing the SUV to overturn.
